DAYTON, Ohio -- Maj. Gen. Carl Schaefer(left), Air Force Materiel Command Deputy Commander speaks to attendees at a medal presentation for WWII Veteran Lt. Joseph Kollenberg at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force on July 24, 2019. Kollenberg’s awards and their citations have been lost over the years. Gen. Schaefer presented new decorations to include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, and the European, African, Middle Eastern Service Medal.
