District Commander Col. Christopher Sallese, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, welcomes birders to the Corps Woods on the first day of FeatherFest 2012. The Corps Woods, part of the beneficial use site developed using dredged materials, has become a pristine habitat for wildlife and a favorite destination for both migratory birds and birders. Visit the Corps' Environmental website at http://www.usace.army.mil/Missions/Environmental.aspx for more information about environmental initiatives.
