Commander of the Combined Joint Civil Military Operations Task Force in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Republic of the Philippines, Armed Forces of the Philippines Navy Capt. Rosauro M. Sarmiento and U.S. Army Col. Philip W. Young, deputy commander of the CJCMOTF, speak to a local journalist, Melo Ponce De Leon from the Go Palawan Newspaper, about the new classrooms being built at Buena Vista Elementary School, April 2, as a part of Exercise Balikatan 2012. Both Sarmiento and Young took Ponce De Leon and her media team on a tour throughout the site to show the progress being made on the construction project for the area. This is one of five engineering civic assistance projects the island of Palawan will receive during the exercise, emphasizing a high level of interoperability and enhanced civil-military relations. Exercise Balikatan officially begins April 16, 2012.
