Fleet Readiness Center East Commanding Officer Capt. Mark E. Nieto, fourth from right, stands with FRCE leadership inspectors from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection Program following a VPP inspection in March. Following the inspection, the OSHA team recommended FRCE VPP Application Areas Charlie and Golf for designation as VPP Star Sites. VPP focuses on preventing fatalities, injuries and illnesses through a system of hazard prevention and control, worksite analysis; training; and management commitment and worker involvement, and implementation of the program has helped FRCE reduce the number of workplace mishaps and earn recognition for exemplary safety.
