The Blackhorse of the Week is Spc. Andrew Leckrone, a cargo handling specialist with the Inland Cargo Transfer Company, 129th Sustainment Battalion, 300th Sustainment Brigade.
Why is this Soldier the Blackhorse of The Week? Leckrone is being recommended as the 300th Sustainment Brigade Blackhorse of the Week because he has demonstrated leadership qualities commensurate with a non-commissioned officer. He was recently selected above 18 of his peers to fill the role of shift noncommissioned officer in charge and was charged with leading three Soldiers. This week Leckrone facilitated the accident-free movement of over 140,450 pounds of cargo, to include 39,180 pounds of hazardous material, aiding joint operations at Ali Al Salem Air Base in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
The Blackhorse of The Week Award is presented to Soldiers that show outstanding service, dedication to duty, and leadership throughout the Sustainment Brigade, area of operations. Each Soldier selected is presented with a certificate and coin.
