FORT LEE, Va. (May 30, 2019) -- From left to right, Department of the Army Civilian Police officers Alex Madrid, Hillerson Peterson and Rick Hanner discuss the adjustments needing to be made on a child safety seat with Sgt. Latia Southall, a motorist and mother of a toddler, during the Fort Lee Safety Day event at the Main Exchange parking lot May 22. The officers also assisted Southall with safety seat placement and positioning. Personnel from 10 different agencies helped motorists to correctly install, adjust and position more than 40 child safety seats in the annual occasion serving to help keep safety on the minds of motorists prior to the holiday weekend, said Kelly Hinnant, a safety and occupational health specialist with the Installation Safety Office, the event coordinator.
