April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. MCPON Russell Smith shares his thoughts on how we can tackle this issue together. "A sexual assault is an affront to our basic humanity. It insults the Navy’s core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment, and erodes the trust necessary to prevail in conflict. Trust among warriors is critical. It’s on all of us to use every tool and opportunity to root out the scourge of sexual assault and sexual harassment. Failing to do so degrades our readiness. To create and maintain a culture of excellence and the readiness needed to compete and win in the high-end fight, we need to know what stands in the way of achieving that culture. I implore you to participate in the discussion and allow us to address these issues together, as teammates - you have a voice and an ear from leadership. The time to act is now.” - MCPON Smith
