The School of Infantry-West (SOI-W) located in the 53 Area of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, April 22, 2019. SOI-W is responsible for training infantry Marines in the basics of their respective military occupational specialty, and non-infantry Marines in the basic fundamentals of Marine Corps warfighting. In addition, SOI-W is the training site for the Combat Instructor School, Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, Marine Combat Training Battalion, Infantry Training Battalion and Mobilization Training Battalion.
