The front of Sue and Jack Tillery’s house after it was struck by three destructive weather systems that roared through their Athens neighborhood on April 27, 2011. The day’s record 216 tornadoes along with thunderstorms killed 348 people across the Southeast, including 238 in Alabama, and caused an estimated $11 billion in damage.
