US soldiers with the 519th Military Police Battalion, 1st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade execute humanitarian efforts by allocating food and water for role players acting as local civilians during a 5-day field exercise from Dec. 5 to Dec. 9. Elements of the 1st MEB are currently allocated to the Defense CBRN Response Force. Task Force Operations capabilities include initial rapid response missions such as casualty search and rescue, patient decontamination, air and ground transportation and engineering support. Joint Task Force Civil Support, based out of Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA is the higher headquarters for DCRF. DCRF consists of 5,200, active duty military personnel. The DCRF would respond to a CBRN incident, at the request of state and federal agencies, within the USNORTHCOM area of responsibility.
