The Stithton Circle is one of the safest intersections at Fort Knox. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet explained that roundabouts are safer than traditional roundabouts, and that they reduce potential collision locations from 32 in a typical intersection to eight in a roundabout. DES officials said the roundabout is safest when drivers yield the right of way to traffic already in the circle.
