UCT 2 Salvages Small Boat Finger Pier

Underwater Construction Team Two’s (UCT 2), Construction Dive Detachment Alpha (CDDA), stand atop the once sunken finger pier in Sasebo, Japan. CDDA worked tirelessly throughout the night to raise and repair the sunken pier in Juliet Basin, CFAS, Japan. The small craft pier was partially sunken due to damaged sustained during recent typhoons, affecting CFAS Port Operations ability to support C7F Operations. CDDA is on the first stop of their six-month deployment, where they are conducting inspections, maintenance, and repairs of various underwater and waterfront facilities in support of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
