Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic employees Brad Knaus, Richard Kelly, Josh Carter, Chad Sullivan and D.J. Tyree, members of the SSC Atlantic Unmanned Systems Research (SAUSR) Range team, prepare a “swarm” of unmanned aerial vehicle’s (UAVs) for a practice mission. The SAUSR team is working with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to put autonomous technology in the hands of warfighters. SSC Atlantic develops, acquires and provides life cycle support for command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, information technology and space capabilities. A leading-edge Navy engineering center, SSC Atlantic designs, builds, tests, fields and supports many of the finest frontline C4ISR systems in use today, and those being planned for the future.
