The Afghan, American and British flags fly over a recently refurbished memorial at Forward Operating Base Delhi, Nov. 11. During their seven-month deployment Marines from 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment have helped Garmsir progress toward transitioning authority of the district to Afghan security forces and the Afghan government. The Lava Dogs, who arrived here mid-April, began the journey home to Marine Corps Base Hawaii in early November.
