Southwest Asia- A Q-53 radar with the 65th Field Artillery Brigade's Target
Acquisition Platoon scans to determine the point of origin of enemy indirect
fire (IDF) during Operation Inherent Resolve, Aug. 14, 2018. Detection of
IDF serves as an early warning against attack, and also provides coalition
forces counter fire capabilities. CJTF-OIR works by, with, and through
partner forces to defeat Daesh in designated areas of Iraq and Syria, and
sets conditions for follow-on operations to increase regional stability.
