181102-N-N0701-0001 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Nov. 2, 2018) “Fiori,” a Kemp’s ridley sea turtle, heads back into the Atlantic Ocean after being rehabilitated from pneumonia, gas within the gastronintestinal tract, and a recreational fishing hook embedded in its mouth. “Fiori” is equipped with a U.S. Navy-funded satellite tag used to track movements, habitat use, and seasonability of the species in the Chesapeake Bay and coastal Virginia waters as part of a research project with the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.
