Don Downer, a retired Marine who joined in 1946, holds his 1,400th care package he’s sent out since he began sending them to deployed service members in 2008. This package was sent to Capt. Matthew Richie, Echo Battery Commander, 2nd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, who is deployed to Afghanistan.
