TINIAN, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (Sept. 14, 2018) – Federal Coordinating Officer Willie Nunn, of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, briefs Mayor Joey P. San Nicolas, mayor of the island of Tinian, Governor Ralph Torres, governor of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield, commander of Joint Region Marianas, and Rear Adm. Brad Cooper, commander, Amphibious Force Seventh Fleet, on the status of relief efforts in the CNMI. The Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit team assisted local agencies and FEMA with distributing emergency relief supplies after the island was struck by Typhoon Mangkhut, September 10.
