Capt. Chris Richardella, company commander, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, presents French Capt. Laurent Delaval, 8th Parachutist Infantry Regiment, a Hawaiian shark-tooth spearhead as a gift during a barbeque celebrating the end of the successful joint training exercise AMERICAL-2011 at Hale Koa Beach here today. “We are two great nations and two great militaries,” Richardella said. “We appreciate you coming here and hoped you learned from us.” The French marines will depart Marine Corps Base Hawaii Aug. 24 as a platoon from Fox Company, 2/3, returns from training in French New Caledonia.
