Col. Michael Scalise, deputy commander, Marine Corps Installations East, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, welcomes Senate Armed Services Committee member Thom Tillis, senator of North Carolina, as he arrives at John A. Lejeune Hall on MCB Camp Lejeune, Aug. 6. Tillis also visited Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune and participated in a round table discussion with senior enlisted Marines and spouses before touring on-base housing. “It is great to have Sen. Thom Tillis come to see what we do here at Camp Lejeune,” said Scalise. “When speaking to the spouses of our staff non-commissioned officers he will definitely gain an appreciation for the life of a Marine Corps family.” (U.S. Marine photo by Lance Cpl.
