GARMSIR DISTRICT, Afghanistan (May 31, 2018) -- A U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook awaits cargo at a landing zone near Garmsir district, Afghanistan, May 31, 2018. The Chinooks enable resupply of needed goods to austere environments, such as Deh Bala district, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, where Afghan Commando and U.S. Special Forces units are currently conducting offensive operations against ISIS-K. The largest combined contingent of Afghan Commandos ever assembled, advised by U.S. Special Forces began routing ISIS-K from the district on May 28, 2018.
