SAN SALVADOR, EL Salvador (May 10, 2018) - Navy Adm. Kurt W. Tidd, commander of U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), and El Salvador’s Minister of Defense, David Munguía Payés, conduct a press conference following the completion of the 2018 Central American Security Conference (CENTSEC). The conference, co-hosted by El Salvador and SOUTHCOM, includes Central American military and security leaders who are discussing networked threats impacting the region’s security, the progress of information sharing efforts, joint and interagency initiatives, support to recent disaster relief missions, and cyber threats of mutual concern.
