Contractors work on a new gymnasium for Duquesne Elementary School in the Joplin, Mo., school district. The May 22 EF5 tornado that struck Joplin destroyed eight schools; temporary modular classrooms and storm shelters are being put in place and will be ready for the first day of classes, Aug. 17.
