Capt. James Sprys operates Mission Index Flying software on an Air Mobility Command mission laptop computer Feb. 15, over the U.S. MIF uses airborne solution software in the cockpit, allowing aircrews to fly at optimal altitudes and airspeeds for their current flight conditions, thereby minimizing flight time and fuel burn and reducing operating costs. Sprys is a 6th Airlift Squadron C-17 Globemaster III aircraft commander at at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J.
