FORT LEE, Va. (March 15, 2018) -- Sgt. 1st Class Jonathan Collier, Victor Company, 262nd Quartermaster Battalion, marches QM School troops to the dining facility at lunchtime March 15. He is among the first wave of installation advanced individual training platoon sergeants who attended a U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy course that converted them to drill sergeant status. They graduated March 12 and thus became the first NCOs to don campaign hats here since 2008, when a new Army policy replaced drill sergeants with AIT platoon sergeants. The policy was reversed last year. NCOs from the 23rd QM Bde. as well as the 59th Ordnance Bde. are scheduled to complete their drill sergeant conversions by the end of this year.
