    Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who died June 8 when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device in An Najaf province, Iraq. Pfc. Matthew Joseph England, 22, whose home of record is listed as Gainesville, Mo., entered active-duty service in September 2009 as an armor crewman. He was assigned to 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, since January 2010. England deployed in support of Operation New Dawn in August 2010. England's awards and decorations include an Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge and Driver and Mechanic Badge.
