U.S. Marine Cpl. Jacob Kaess fast ropes on Camp Fuji, Japan, Feb. 13. 2018. Marines and Sailors with Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division learned the fundamentals of fast roping for future vertical assault operations. Kaess, an Oakdale, Minnesota native, is a squad leader for Golf Company. He is attached to the 3rd Marine Division through the unit deployment program. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
