Maj. Eric Manewal of the Washington Air National Guard's 194th Wing received the Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding service while assigned to the 194th Air Support Operations Group. Manewal received the medal from Col. Gent Welsh, Wing commander, during a commander's call on January 27, 2018 at Camp Murray, Washington. While serving as an Air Liaison Officer, Manewal developed domestic operations plans for the Wing and was the Wing's lead planner for numerous exercises, including the largest domestic operations ever held in Washington State. Manewal is currently serving as the 194th Wing Director of Inspections. Manewal grew up in Sitka, Alaska, and he has served in the Air Force for 21 years.
