Though the Army has fought in urban areas before, it’s not just the density of a city that challenges scientists designing the sensor equipment to help Soldiers navigate future operating environments. The electromagnetic spectrum, where communications and navigation information flow, is also more crowded, and jamming, denial and disinformation campaigns will clog and obscure the battlespace.
