Today we introduce the senior enlisted leader of Headquarters and Operations Company, 743rd Military Intelligence Battalion, 1st Sgt. David D. Gustin, of Fairbanks, Alaska.
Gustin is responsible for the health and welfare of more than 120 Soldiers, to include all personnel who report to the Reception and Integration platoon when they come to the battalion.
As an avid outdoorsman, a few Soldiers from his unit said 1SG drives a Subaru to take full advantage of the location and can always be found looking for his next adventure in Colorado.
When asked about what he likes best about his assignment Gustin said, "I chose to come here because of the location. I love to snowboard and things like that and am very much into the outdoors, but when I was able come here and also take a 1SG position, I think that was the best part."
Gustin, who has served in the U.S. Army for 18 years, is gearing up for football season as a Seattle SeaHawks fan.
