Republic of Korea Marines with the 9th Artillery Battalion fire multiple artillery shells from ROK K-9 self-propelled Howitzers during a fire-support coordination drill at Yeonpyeong-Do, Republic of Korea, May 3. The staff of 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, visited ROK Marines to observe the drill. The exercise, while not a part of the Korean Incremental Training Program 2011-2, allowed U.S. and ROK Marines to continue to work together to strengthen the ROK-U.S. alliance, while promoting stability throughout the Korean Peninsula.
