U.S. Air Force Maj. Joseph Sanduk, 146th Airlift Wing, California Air National Guard, watches air traffic as they orbit near the Deaton Cole wildfire aboard a C-130J Hercules in Val Verde County, Texas, April 29. The C-130 is equipped with the Modular Airborne Firefighting System which is capable of dispensing 3,000 gallons of water or fire retardant in under 5 seconds. Wildfires have spread across various parts of Texas and have burned more than 1.5 million acres since January.
