Innovators from across government, industry and academia participate in the U.S. Navy-sponsored “HACKtheMACHINE” event in September at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. NUWC Division Newport sent eight participants and had representation in each track (from left): Dewin Andujar (Virtual Reality); Nicholas Manning (Maritime Capture the Flag); Stephen O’Grady (facilitator, Virtual Reality); Marie Bussiere (Naval Design and Architecture Executive Track); Akeim Findlay (Capture the Flag); Jean Gardella (Capture the Flag); Gary Huntress (Data Science); and Joet Rivera Lugo (Capture the Flag). Huntress was part of the team that won the “Data Science and the Seven Seas” challenge.
