Sgt. Shanika McNealy, a military police officer assigned to the 164th Military Police Company, receives the Combat Action Badge and Purple Heart from Maj. Gen. Raymond P. Palumbo, U.S. Army Alaska commander, April 15, at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Hospital. McNealy received the medal for wounds received in combat action against a hostile enemy force in Afghanistan. McNealy was wounded in action April 6 while deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
