Marines and sailors with 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit Forward work with Japanese civilians and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force personal to offload supplies from a Navy landing craft utility here March 27 during Operation Tomadachi. The LCU brought five utility vehicles, 3,456 Meals Ready-to-Eat, 239 five-gallon jugs of water, 136 tarps, fuel and 300 hygiene kits for the inhabitants of the island who were hit hard by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
