Eight-month-old Iliana Sierra sleeps peacefully while her mother, Betzabeth Sierra, fills out customs paperwork at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., March 25 after they arrived from Japan. Following the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11, hundreds of family members from military bases in Japan voluntarily relocated to the United States after radiation from crippled Japanese nuclear energy plants was detected in some areas.
The evacuation effort was part of Operation Pacific Passage.
