Cpl. Legend, the beloved mascot for Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., passed away at approximately 4 p.m., Sept. 17, 2017. Legend was found unresponsive and taken to the depot’s veterinary clinic where he was pronounced deceased. Legend’s funeral ceremony will be held on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m., at the depot’s mascot cemetery.
