170916-N-YJ133-062 (ASAN, Guam) Sept. 16, 2017 -- Sailors from submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39) partner with local residents of Asan, one of Land’s three sister villages, to remove litter from Asan Beach during a cleanup event organized by the Bureau of Statistics and Plan’s Guam Coastal Management Program. The 23rd Guam International Coastal Cleanup supported the Ocean Conservancy’s annual International Coastal Cleanup and featured more than 20 cleanup locations across Guam. Emory S. Land and sister ship, USS Frank Cable (AS 40), provide maintenance, hotel services, and logistical support to submarines and surface ships in the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation.
