Carney and Shapiro discussed the results of a recent consultation with a patient, a 29-year-old Army officer, to determine whether the patient would be a candidate for hip arthroscopic surgery. The Aug. 23, 2017, encounter marked the first orthopedic, or ‘tele-orthopedic,’ consult done via (VTC) in Navy history.
