    PACIFIC OCEAN (July 14, 2017) - Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Nicholas Reese, from Pensacola, Florida, assigned to the deck department aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), directs the crane operator to raise a rigid-hull, inflatable boat, assigned to Assault Craft Unit 1, during small boat operations as part of a sustainment exercise. San Diego is embarked on a scheduled deployment as part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, which is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) and San Diego.
