A U.S. Navy member from the NATO Role 3 Multi-National Medical Unit holds a sign during the USO morale event Dec. 16 at Kandahar Air field, Afghanistan. Thousands of NATO service members attended the event which included several high-profile celebrities such as actor Robin Williams, comedians Lewis Black and Kathleen Madigan, musicians Kix Brooks and Bob Dipiero, and athlete Lance Armstrong. U.S. Navy Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, provided opening remarks for the event.
