Former Army Staff Sgt. Alfred Eye, a World War II veteran who served during the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and throughout the Pacific Campaign, is presented with the Combat Infantryman Badge by Capt. James King, commander of D Troop, 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Dec. 7, at Soldiers Field House. Eye’s great-grandson, Spc. Nathan Glaser, assigned to D Troop, played an essential role in the re-issuing of his great-grandfather’s awards, which had been lost over the years.
