Maj. Heather L. Duff, of Olive Branch, Miss., the family life chaplain with 184th Sustainment Command, Mississippi Army National Guard, delivers the sermon for religious services during 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team’s National Training Center rotation in Fort Irwin, Ca., May 21, 2017.
“I think the religious services keep the Soldiers motivated,” said Chaplain Duff. “A lot of the time, religious services remind the Soldiers of their church back home and they pick up on customs that have been instilled in them.”
An NTC rotation echoes the tough, realistic operational environment that America’s war fighters face in combat. Soldiers are offered religious services to maintain morale while they are away from their families. (Mississippi National Guard photo by Sgt. Connie Jones, 102d Public Affairs Detachment)
