PACIFIC OCEAN (May 15, 2017)- Fire Controlman 1st Class Gretchen Monares, from Stockton, California, operates the weapons control system (WCS) in the combat information center aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70) during a live-fire exercise. Lake Erie is currently underway on an independent deployment to the Western Pacific and Middle East in support of maritime security operations and theater cooperation efforts.
