Corey Sierra, a firefighter with the Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow Fire Department, positions a ladder on a firetruck as he prepares to climb on to the roof of building 573 at Production Plant Barstow, Marine Depot Maintenance Command, aboard the Yermo Annex of MCLB Barstow. Sierra, a native of Las Vegas, was participating in a “stand off drill” to carefully position the truck and ladder far enough away from a burning structure so it will not get damaged in the event of the structure collapsing.
