Cpl. Thomas Alcaraz takes a break from driving an assault amphibious vehicle, March 28, 2017, at Susong Ri live fire range, Republic of Korea, during Korea Marine Exercise Program 17-6. U.S. and ROK Marines maneuvered AAVs towards the objective during a live fire exercise. The KMEP series of exercises continually evolves to maintain the highest level of readiness in defense of ROK through realistic training. Alcaraz, a Pasedena, Texas native, is a crew chief with Company C, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion. The company, a reserve unit based out of Galveston, Texas, is attached to Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force through the unit deployment program.
