U.S. Marines in support of Aviation Ground Support work together to mark the damages on a map of a staged airfield during a Damage Assessment Team (DAT) practical application in support of Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) at Site 50, Ariz., March 28, 2017. Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course 2-17 is a seven-week training event hosted by MAWTS-1 cadre, which emphasizes operational integration of the six functions of Marine Corps aviation in support of a Marine Air Ground Task Force and provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine Aviation Training and Readiness and assists in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics.
