The Afghan National Army 209th Corps and the 10th Mountain Division''s Female Engagement Team donated approximately $6,000 worth of school supplies to Said Hidayatullah Naqshbandi and Kaka Kot girls'' schools in Nahr-e Shahi District, Oct. 4. Said Hidayatullah Naqshbandi School provides education to nearly 5,000 females in the area while Kaka Kot''s attendance is approximately 400. Enrollment exceeds the schools'' capacities so both institutions rotate shifts each day to accommodate the students'' needs. The majority of the classes at Said Hidayatullah Naqshbandi School are held on the floor of nearly 20 dilapidated tents that provide minimal shelter from the elements.
