Mr. Beefy, the mascot of Coast Guard Station Indian River, stands a taut watch, awaiting the morning arrival of crewmembers at the station located in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Feb. 24, 2017.
Mr. Beefy, who is an honorary Petty Officer 2nd Class Machinery Technician, lives at work, where he stands a roving security watch on station grounds and considers all of the crewmembers family. Outside of standing watch, Beefy helps the crew keep the station clean by taking care of any snacks people may not be paying attention to.
