MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII – Sgt. Philip Barry, a crew chief with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 268, also known as the “Red Dragons,” and a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, stares out over the Pacific Ocean prior to a tail-gunnery training exercise on Jan. 11, 2017. During the training, the aircraft’s crew chiefs fired controlled bursts with M240B medium machine guns from the rear of MV-22 Ospreys while communicating with their pilots over the ocean surface. This training was beneficial for the crew chiefs as it helps to further improve their lethality as aerial support for ground units during future combat operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
